- 5.0Indestructible! Reliable!By Frugal Man- Grateful Driver | on Sunday, May 26, 2019 My ex wife financed this vehicle, using my Power of Attorney, while working overseas. It was flooded out during a hurricane when she couldn't evacuate the vehicle, and it subsequently caused an electrical fire under the seat, which then caused the dashboard lights to remain on even after pulling the key. Well... I left for another job overseas when she allowed a friend to drive very fast over a speedbump causing the transmission to not work as designed...so Acura sat and waited ...but then... One night my ex went out drinking and in the parking lot of the bar a drunk driver hit her and fled the scene...but then... I returned back to the states. I put 2000$ into fixing the transmission...and BAM! Just like Emeral Lagasse adding some spice to his cooking, AAMCO added some spice to my driving! Acura now has over 210K miles and can accelerate and move like a brand new ISX. She's a little cosmetically bruised, but she has the heart of a Lion. Despite the storms, bad drivers, a drunk driver, and even a divorce, my Acura still to this day provides me with reliable transportation to work. I love this car! Highly recommend as a commuter!!!!…
- 4.0Great vehicle, other than the transmissionBy Fever | on Thursday, January 14, 2021 The engine is great, bullet proof and powerful for this sedan, probably the best engine I have ever owned. The car rides super smooth, there is plenty of room and is very comfortable for both the front and back seats, the trunk is surprisingly generous. I have had minimal maintenance on it and I am pleased I purchased it 15 years ago. The con? The transmission sucks, bad year and enough of a problem that I will never buy another Acura again, mostly because Acura put out an ineffective recall before the transmission went and then took zero responsibility for it at 92,000 miles, 90K was the warranty, when it failed. I had to have it rebuilt twice, the second time was within AAMCO's warranty, so I got a break on the bill. Think you might want to buy one, check to see if the transmission was rebuilt before you do. If yes, you like the car.…
- 5.0great carBy victor | on Friday, December 08, 2017 I bought the car new in 1999, I still drive it at 230,000 miles. The only problem was the transmission. I had it rebuilt at 160,000 miles, so far so good. I am looking at new cars and cant find one that I like better than my TL. Therefore, I have decided to fix it up and keep it. The best car I have ever owned.…
